Boys Tennis defeats Berlin

 Newington 5, Berlin 2: After a 6-1 loss to Southington in their last match, the Indians rebounded to put together a solid performance and take down the Redcoats.

Matt Utter lost in No. 1 singles for Newington to Berlin’s Jon Trevethan.

“It was a great match,” Newington head coach Don Lukowski said. “I was very pleased with the boys. They gave us a fine effort. I want to congratulate Jon Trevethan, he had a great match.”

The Indians swept the rest of the singles matches, including a thrilling victory by Sam Johnson, who beat John Addamo 15-13 in an epic tiebreaker.
