Boys Tennis opens with 7-0 win

Newington 7, Plainville 0: Ron Abraham started the year perfectly, winning every game in a romp. The double team of Darin Mathew and Shelbin Cheriyan pulled out the only difficult match of the day in a third-set tiebreak. Newington is now off until Saturday, when it takes it takes its yearly weekend road trip, this time to Watertown.
